**Read this review before choosing Shipcars for your transport needs** I originally worked with Montway as a broker who then sent me quotes via their website. Shipcars had the best reviews, so I ultimately chose them regardless of a higher rate. I knew on the day that the car was scheduled to be picked up, that things were amiss when a driver in AL contacted me that he would be picking up the car in MO in 6 hours. But since there is no way to verify the information, I just prepared the best I could. I contacted the dispatcher several hours later (contact number on the website) to ask for a more specific time of pickup and was told I was given information for the wrong driver. 30 mins pass and my actual driver is 40 mins from the pickup location. Confusing as hell. The driver arrives at the residence to pickup the car I just purchased injured and limping around. Does not speak English … at all. Requires him handing a cell phone back and forth between he and the seller for interpreted speech via an app. He begins the loading process … keep in mind the car had 649 miles on the odometer … its absolutely perfect and cost $120k. The foreign driver gets the car into the trailer by crawling back and forth over the interior to look out the passenger window. To exit the car he must crawl outside the drivers window by pushing with his feet and pulling up with his arms. Since he can only put weight on one leg, he grabs the roof rail and pulls himself through the open window, then places his hands on the roof rail with his cell phone on the paint and pushes himself out of the opening. In doing so he left 2 dents on the roof rail itself that will require repair. This happened in MO and was recorded with video and pictures by the seller of the car. The driver delivered the car the next morning. It was 9 degrees outside and the driver didn’t even have a coat. He climbed into the car the same way he had crawled out the previous day. I could hardly watch as he climbed around with no regard for what kind of damage he may be doing. After backing the car off the trailer, he driver handed me his cell phone to sign, but didn’t tell me what I was signing or the 2 pages prior that he should have showed me. It was the bill of lading that he wanted me to sign but I had no idea what it was at the time and he couldn’t tell me. The electronic BOL that Montway/Shipcars links customers to online, showed 2 different cars on my BOL. They had no pictures of the car or documentation when picked up, but instead showed some random Camaro instead. I only noticed the damage after getting the car into my garage and in the correct lighting to see the dents. I contacted both Montway and Shipcars immediately that day. I received a reply 3 days later that they would look into the matter. 7 days later Shipcars agreed that the driver caused the damage. I had to pay for a PDR technician to come to my home and give me an estimate for repair since at that time, it was winter in MN and the car could not be driven. $475 estimate, not the end of the world if it works, but not what I would call a great service by the carrier and a complete lack of common sense and disregard for property by the driver who transported my car. Shipcars agreed to pay $300-350 based on what they estimate the bill to be based on pictures I provided to their claims dept. I respond back with the $475 estimate that I was given for repair. Since that email on March 3rd, they have been completely unresponsive to any contact or correspondence. I have sent 3 more emails, asking for resolution and have been completely ghosted ever since. This is the kind of company you are thinking about entrusting your car with. Keep that in mind … all for the cost of a $475 repair bill that their driver was the cause of and Shipcars was in agreement with. And instead of doing the right thing and paying for the repairs, shipcars must obviously consider this is way to do business. DO NOT use this company under any circumstances to ship a vehicle. You will regret it. If I could have rated them a 0/5, I would have.
