We all go to the shops for a variety of goods and, of course, are familiar with the rights of buyers, according to which there is an opportunity to return goods of improper quality back to the point of sale, having received their money. In the case of clothes for two weeks, you can return even the goods that you found small or inconvenient, but you could not notice it during the first fitting in the store.
Well, if with such small purchases more or less clear, then this is how things are with more impressive price goods, such as cars. Is it possible to return your car back to the dealership, having received the entire amount spent on it?
Will the dealership take the car back?
Of course, yes. The car here is the same product as a blouse or pants in the nearest mall, and if the owner has reasons to return the car within the agreed time, it will be accepted. But it is worth understanding that without paperwork, too, will not do. However, in this case, the goal justifies the money spent.
For what reason can sell your car back dealership?
To “please” the dealership with a return completely without objective reasons – marriage, breakdowns and other claims, it is enough to declare your desire in the first two weeks after purchase. In this case, the dealer himself has no right to refuse if the returned product does not have external mechanical damage.
As for the return under the warranty period, later than 14 days, here it is already important to state a specific reason. You need to understand that modern cars are very complex technically, so sometimes it is not possible to identify a defect immediately, but only after operating the car for at least a couple of weeks, or even months.
Among the reasons why they can take a car back to the salon are the following:
- during operation, the user discovered significant shortcomings for correction, which require a significant part of the cost of the auto itself;
- if, after the repair, the problems still return and require new financial investments from the car owner;
- the auto is under warranty repair for more than 30 days due to serious breakdowns;
- one of the significant parts of the auto is broken – the engine, gearbox, etc.
What are the options for a refund?
The dealer is obliged to consider the written request of the buyer and to correct the situation if any of the above circumstances arise. At the same time, the client may not always be offered to receive cash. There is an alternative: getting a similar car or another car with a partial refund (if it is cheaper) or a surcharge from the buyer (if another car is more expensive than the return one).
As you can see, it is possible to sell the auto back to the car dealership, but you need to understand that the auto should not have mechanical damage, i.e.to visit an accident during operation.
