Dodge is a well-known automobile company that has been pleasing with its four-wheeled “offspring” for many years in a row. Particular attention is paid to Dodge cars 1960s, which were released in the 60s of the last century. We invite you to remember them today.
Dodge Historical Background
The idea to create their own company for the production of bicycles – yes, bicycles, came to two brothers John and Horace Dodge together with F. Evans, in Detroit back in 1899. The brothers were gaining design experience and soon attracted the attention of the already famous automaker – Henry Ford. For a long time they designed engines for him, but after 10 years of cooperation, they decided to go free sailing and create their own car design company. This is how the Dodge Brothers Incorporated organization appeared in the middle of 1914. Hence the countdown of their success.
Dodge Charger R/T 1969 year
One of the most famous Dodge cars 60s models. It was a resounding success that still stuns fans of real “muscle cars”. This model was so much like a Coca-Cola bottle that its style was nicknamed the “Coca bottle style”. The graceful curves of the body, the original grille and hidden headlights won hearts.
The car had a V8 engine with a volume of 5.2 liters, which produced 233 hp.and 461 Nm of torque with a maximum acceleration of 253 km/h.
Dodge Charger Daytona 1969 year
This year was “fruitful” for Dodge and it was decided not to stop releasing a racing version based on the Charger. Daytona received more advanced aerodynamics of the body, several plastic parts at once. The maximum speed is 253 km/h with acceleration dynamics to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. The total engine power is enormous – 425 hp.
Dodge Super Bee A12 1969 year
Another of the Dodge car models 1960. It was several times cheaper than the Charger, therefore it was considered more than a popular car of that time. The car had an excellent interior and exterior, a powerful V8 engine and 425 horses under the hood. Interestingly, this particular car remains a tidbit for collectors today, but it is very difficult to buy it at auctions.
Dodge Dart 1963 year
Large compact – this is the class Dart belonged to at the dawn of its appearance. Built on the A-platform, it had a five-liter V8 engine that had 253 hp.and 461 Nm of torque. This car was initially presented as an alternative to the previously popular Plymouth model.
These are just a few of the many discoveries from the Dodge at the time. The company actively worked in all directions, paying attention not only to the then gaining popularity of muscle cars, but also trucks, pick-ups, etc. The subsequent decades presented many more interesting ideas from Dodge designers, many of which can still be found on the streets of the country in working order…
